Our Crowdfunding Groups
UC Irvine is one of the top institutions in the world for microbiome science. Our students and postdoctoral scholars have made tremendous contributions to this field over the past two years despite continual challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic. As they quarantined, isolated, and followed public health measures to ensure everyone’s safety, they missed out on important elements of science: community building, conference participation, workshops, and networking. Through it all, they kept on making groundbreaking discoveries. Now it's time to recognize their perseverance and boost morale.
The faculty in UCI’s Microbiome Science Group invite you to join us in donating. Funds will support a gala event to honor the students and postdoctoral researchers in our vibrant community. Food, drinks, awards, and microbiome-related entertainment will be provided for the event. We’re asking for your help because many sources of university funding, such as government grants, are restricted and cannot be used to pay for awards and social activities. By giving an unrestricted gift, you can ensure there are funds available to express our appreciation to the next generation of microbiome scientists.
