In less than two short weeks we have already raised an additional $2,000 through our friends and family campaign and have now raised $6,437! Thank you so much to our 16 new donors, and of course our 40 donors from earlier this year. We are on pace to reach our $10,000 goal, but need to keep up this pace to do so!

Fundraising isn't all PILF has been working on recently. Earlier this week we concluded our second annual Professional Clothing Drive, which provides court attire for indigent defendants represented by the Orange County Public Defender. In just two years, we have provided: 29 full suits, 51 suit jackets, 48 pairs of pants, 119 shirts, 34 dresses/skirts, and various accessories. 

We are very excited to be over halfway to our $10,000 goal! In less than one week, we have raised more than $1,000. BUT, we can only reach our goal by keeping up that pace. To keep up the enthusiasm, we have added new "page owners" to tell you more about the individuals who your donations can benefit. Click on their boxes to learn more about Olivia and Emily! As we get closer to our overall goal, we will tell you more about the other deserving folks hoping to receive a PILF stipend this year.

Public Interest Law Fund UPDATE:  Thanks to 40 of PILF’s friends and family members, we reached nearly half of our $10,000 fundraising goal this Fall Semester. Now, we have reopened our Friends and Family Campaign for the Spring Semester, and need your help to raise the remainder and reach our goal!

PILF’s need for support is greater than ever. Now that students have started to secure summer jobs, we are expecting to receive about 20% more applications than ever before for summer stipends. We will not be able to guarantee funding for every qualified applicant if we do not hit our overall goal of $80,000. 

This year’s applicants have secured exciting positions in California and beyond, and will be working at organizations including the San Diego Public Defender’s Office, California Appellate Project, and Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office.
