We are honored to serve as this year’s cohort in Paraguay. As individuals who have experienced poverty in the United States and are actively working to dismantle the inequity here at home, we hope to expand our reach abroad. Our goal is not only to help, but to learn from and empower the Paraguayan people.
We will be working with a local non-profit organization called Fundación Paraguaya. In addition to developing tools that help families assess and eliminate the poverty in their communities, this organization seeks to give families lasting skills to continue their growth. In particular, we will be stationed at an agricultural school that aims to empower youths through entrepreneurship. There we will use our knowledge to expand and grow alongside the local community.
Help us raise $5,000 to make this trip an even greater success!
We plan to provide the teachers and students with workbooks to help them learn English and other subjects.
We plan to give the school a hard drive of the files our team will compile for future teaching practices.
The dehydator will be used to repurpose fruit/ vegetables that go to waste or aren't utilized due to an abundance.
The still will be used for making use of the natural resources, such as making essential oils from eucalyptus trees.
