Help the Class of 1968 raise $25,000 to create a White Coat endowment that will live in perpetuity supporting the White Coat program for students in the years to come!*
Each August, 104 bright, talented individuals are welcomed to UCI School of Medicine with a special White Coat Ceremony. Here, they receive their first official lab coat and are introduced to the concept of compassionate, collaborative, scientifically excellent care. With your support, this pivotal moment can take on added significance.
The new white coat symbolizes the beginning of a life-changing journey for each new medical student. The White Coat Ceremony at which the coat is presented has become an annual medical school tradition; a rite of passage across the nation. At UCI, it is also a time when future physicians take the Hippocratic Oath and commit to upholding standards of the profession.
With your gift and support, you can become part of the experience as a note honoring the Class of ’68's generosity will be inscribed in each white coat. Then, each time the students wear these coats, they will serve as a reminder that those who came before them are cheering them on.
Please join with the UCI School of Medicine in creating a special moment that first-year medical students will remember as their welcome to UCI and the profession. Make their White Coat Ceremony an event they will forever associate with the Class of ’68.
*In the event that the minimum for establishing an endowed fund is not reached, all funds raised in this campaign will be used as current use funds for the same purpose.
