Thank you so much for your support throughout this campaign! We finished this past Sunday and not only met our goal of $20,000, but you also helped us raise almost 10% more! This is the most we have ever raised, and it will go a long way towards our 2020 car, "Jinx." 

We have a new update as well: We just received our materials to begin construction of our tube-frame chassis! We will be working through the end of Fall Quarter and over Winter Break on manufacturing the frame and installing first the engine and suspension components, followed by those from the Brakes, Human Interface, Electronics, and Aerodynamics sub-systems. In the picture below, the Chassis Sub-team engineers are setting up the chassis tubes using a full-scale printout of their SolidWorks designs. They are also constructing a jig that will hold tubes in place so that they can be welded together properly. It is a difficult process, but it ensures that we'll have a chassis that meets the Formula SAE rules requirements and contains the rest of the car's 300-plus parts.

As our campaign continues, we will update you about the latest developments for our 2019-20 car, "Jinx." Our first is from the Engine Development Sub-team, which has made great progress with our recently-purchased 2009 Yamaha R6 engine. This group of UCI Engineers has taken on some of our biggest design challenges, from redesigning the radiator and recovery tank mounting to running simulations to improve engine performance.
