Take Back the Night (TBTN) is a nationwide candlelight vigil and march to raise awareness about sexual and relationship violence and seeks to demonstrate support for and solidarity with survivors. Following keynote addresses from campus and community leaders, attendees will participate in a candlelight march and educational fair with interactive displays. TBTN will also feature artistic and musical performances and conclude with a speak out where survivors are invited to share their experiences with assault and their healing journeys. At UC Irvine, the annual event is co-sponsored by UCI CARE and the Initiative to End Family Violence. This year's event is the 23rd annual Take Back the Night event and is scheduled to take place on April 15th, 2020.
