Mike Puritz Staff Assembly Career Enhancement Scholarship

The Mike Puritz Staff Assembly Career Enhancement Scholarship Program helps UC Irvine and UCI Medical Center career employees further their educational goals and professional development. 

Please help your colleagues achieve more! Why not give your start year? For example, if you started in 2015, you can give $20.15.

Since 2015, nearly 50 recipients have received up to $500 scholarships each to pursue an academic degree, take Continuing Education courses, and attend workshops, webinars, conferences or other classes.

Last year, we awarded 14 scholarships after receiving 80 applications. Help us raise $10,000 so we can fund 20 scholarships this year! Together we can help each other achieve more.

Your gift to this fund can help current staff:

• Pursue continuing education and certificates to enhance their personal career development
• Develop professional and leadership skills to qualify for promotions at UCI
• Achieve professional goals and provide additional value to their teams and departments
• Obtain additional skills and education while relieving some financial burden on their families

The scholarship program is named in honor of Mike Puritz, who retired from UCI in 2015 after 35 years of service as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach and Associate Director of UCI Campus Recreation, and 19 years of service to Staff Assembly.
