After a 43-year career in pediatric neurology, including the last 18 years serving the autism & neurodevelopmental disorders communities in Orange County, Dr. Joseph H. Donnelly made the bittersweet decision to retire from UCI's The Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders. As a life-long advocate for expanding & improving services for families impacted by autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders, Dr. Donnelly spent his career focused on creating exceptional clinical services, and support & education efforts for families and professionals, such as the CAND Education and Training Program.
Our Education and Training Program provides high-quality training for individuals, families, caregivers, community providers and professionals who have or work with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Our expert team provides the support and empowerment needed to help every person reach their greatest potential.
We have courses available to assist families work through everyday challenges that have become even more difficult recently due to the pandemic. Classes include topics such as Family Dynamics and Resiliency, Understanding Behaviors, Language Development, Financial Planning & Conservatorship, Special Education, Role of the Primary Care Provider, and more. In honor of his retirement, we are raising funds to create the Joseph H. Donnelly, M.D. Endowment*, which will support the CAND Education and Training Program in perpetuity. We recently surpassed the 85% mark of our $50,000 goal!

*In the unlikely event that the minimum for establishing a named endowed fund ($50,000) is not reached by June 30, 2023, then all funds raised in this campaign will be used for current-use support for the same purpose.
