Public Interest Law Fund at UCI Law

Helping Real Clients with Real Problems in Orange County and Beyond

October 26, 2022 marks the launch of PILF’s 2022-23 fundraising campaign at UCI Law. UCI Law’s Public Interest Law Fund seeks to enable all interested UCI Law students to serve the public interest – a core mission of UCI School of Law – by providing work stipends and networking opportunities so that students can work at non-profit organizations and agencies, helping real clients with real problems.

Because public-interest organizations rely on volunteer attorneys to provide pro bono assistance, the PILF stipends allow UCI Law students to cover basic living costs while they are working without pay.

We invite you to participate in PILF’s Donate-a-Day’s-Pay campaign. A cornerstone of UCI Law PILF, Donate-A-Day’s-Pay (DADP) invites faculty, staff, alumni, students with paid summer jobs, and family and friends of UCI Law to commit a day’s pay to support unpaid public interest work. With over 150,000 hours of volunteer legal services volunteered by UCI Law PILF participants, PILF continues to make an incredible impact on our Orange County community.

In the 13 years since the school’s founding, the generosity of individual donors and corporate sponsors has allowed UCI Law to provide stipends to every eligible PILF applicant. With your support, our goal is to make this possible for the 14th consecutive year.
