The University of California, Irvine Black Alumni Chapter is hosting the Black Alumni reunion weekend for alumni, students, staff, faculty, and their families on September 23 and 24, 2023. The theme for this event is “Black Excellence, Yesterday, Today, and Forever.”
We invite you to commemorate this momentous occasion with a gift to support the 2023 Black Alumni Reunion. Honor the legacies of our alums & students and inspire new ideas for the Black Alumni Chapter’s continued commitment to support our community! The success of this event depends on donors like you.

Chapter Mission
The Black Alumni Chapter is invested in providing guided support to students, alumni, the university, and community. The chapter works to enhance its effectiveness in this by participating in several activities, including:
These are but a few of the activities in the chapter’s repository. Our executive board is committed to augmenting the skillset of UCI graduates of alumni currently in the workforce, and those entering the workforce. With the goal to equip our Anteaters with the tools and skills necessary to be successful in today’s competitive work environment. Furthermore, the chapter is committed to assist in the production of leaders and trailblazers who can contribute mightily to their chosen professional field endeavor and provide extensively to the university’s commitment to academic excellence, research, service, and enhancing the student experience.
The Reunion
The reunion will focus on recognizing and honoring many of the talented individuals among our UCI alumni. A highlight will be honoring Anteater health care professionals who worked tirelessly and unselfishly, risking their lives to protect the lives of others during the recent COVID-19 pandemic. A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to a distinguished alum for their documented accomplishments that have had a significant impact on individuals, organizations and/or communities. A compassionate individual will be recognized with a “Community Service Award” for their role in making significant contributions to improve communities through dedication of time, talents, acts, and/or charity. Finally, we will honor some of our future stars who are not only talented young professionals, but individuals vital to our future leadership pipeline and relevant in the succession planning process of the UCI Black Alumni Chapter and the University of California, Irvine.
Impact
Your financial contribution to the 2023 Black Alumni Reunion will demonstrate the importance of this signature event on campus and demonstrates the significant impact our community has on the lives of alumni and students. As a chapter, we have awarded over $25,000 in scholarships to students. Not only do scholarships offer resources that empower and allow students to fully immerse themselves in the UCI experience, but they also create a sense of community in which our fellow Anteaters feel welcomed and supported. We contribute our time, talents and financial resources to student organizations and programing, yet we are just touching the tip of the iceberg of our commitment and reach. The chapter and reunion committee are staffed by alumni volunteers who work tirelessly giving back to the University of California, Irvine. Your contribution would help us tremendously in our endeavors.
