Who We Are
Anteater Electric Racing (AER) strives to promote sustainable automotive innovation by designing, manufacturing, and competing with electric, formula-style racecars. AER, which was established at University of California, Irvine’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering, provides students with practical experience in improving technical and leadership skills, and collaborating in pursuit of excellence.

Our Goals
In the short term, AER seeks to foster an environment that grows creativity, teamwork, and technical skills as members work toward success at the annual Formula SAE Electric Vehicle (FSAE EV) competition in Michigan. Beyond that, the organization aims to contribute to the global evolution of sustainable mobility by developing technology and future engineers who are prepared to lead in the fields of electric vehicle design, manufacturing, and motorsports.
Through a commitment to innovation in engineering, Anteater Electric Racing strives to inspire both the university community and the broader automotive field to embrace the future of electric transportation.

Anteater Electric Racing is gearing up for an exciting 2026 season as we prepare to compete at the Formula SAE Electric Vehicle (FSAE EV) competition in Michigan next June. This event brings together top engineering teams from around the world to design, build, and race fully electric, formula-style vehicles. The FSAE EV competition challenges students to advance electric vehicle technology through innovation, performance, and efficiency.
Our team is currently finalizing designs for this year’s vehicle, with fabrication and assembly taking place all throughout the year. Your continued support empowers our students to bring their designs to life, push the limits of electric vehicle performance, and proudly represent UC Irvine on the national stage.
