The UC Irvine School of Medicine Class of 1986 established the Alumni-Sponsored Travel Award endowment to create a lasting legacy honoring their class while supporting current students at the institution where their journey as physicians began. This award empowers UC Irvine School of Medicine students to attend professional development conferences that advance their training and experience, with a particular emphasis on social justice and global health initiatives.

This endowment fuels exploration and inspires the next generation of medical professionals to expand their horizons through meaningful educational opportunities. Your collective support helps the UC Irvine School of Medicine cultivate tomorrow's physicians, equipping them with the global perspective and social consciousness needed to serve diverse communities.

"I am profoundly grateful for the incredible generosity of the donor(s) who funded this scholarship. This scholarship significantly alleviates the financial burden of medical education, allowing me to fully focus on this travel and volunteer experience without the added stress of additional debt. It empowers me to pursue my passion for serving underserved communities, both locally and abroad, and to ultimately achieve my goal of becoming a physician who advocates for health equity in all clinical spaces.

With your support, we can continue to recognize the extraordinary talent and dedication of our medical students. Once our fundraising goal of $100,000 is reached, the income earned from the endowment will allow us to award two annual scholarships of $2,000 to medical students in perpetuity.
