259% Final Total: $12,930

February 16, 2017

Because of your overwhelming support and donations, we have raised an astounding 259% of our initial goal. That's $12,930 that will help our teams build competition-ready vehicles! Every donation will make a difference to our teams. On behalf of our program, we are grateful for your generosity and we cannot thank you enough.

To say thank you to our supporters, we will be hosting two unveiling days to show off our vehicles. We invite you to come and see us and our cars as we get closer to competing. Our friends and family unveiling day will be Saturday April 8, 2017 at UCI. We will also be hosting a sponsor unveiling day on Saturday May 20, 2017 at UCI. If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please contact our Program Manager Katie Robinson (kfrobins@uci.edu) or email us directly (anteaterracing@gmail.com).

100% + Thank you!

February 07, 2017

Thanks to your support, we have reached over 100% of our fundraising goal of $5,000. Every dollar we raise will be used to make our teams and vehicles competition-ready over the next few months. While we have reached our initial goal, we are grateful for any and all contributions to our program. We will continue to accept donations through the end of our campaign - 9 days left!

To express our gratitude, we have produced the following video in honor of our past, present, and future supporters. Check out our vehicles!

Moving Forward: 86% funding raised!

January 31, 2017

What drives you forward? "Bandit" and "Mantis" run on internal combustion engines, but our FSAE Electric racecar "Thor" runs lightning-fast on batteries!

Two weeks into our campaign, we have reached 86% of our $5,000 goal. Thank you so much for helping us move forward in bringing our designs and ideas to life. We are so grateful for your support and generosity, and we want you to know how much every donation means to us.

Here is what's happening with our Formula SAE vehicle "Mantis"!

Formula SAE is an international collegiate design competition held by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Engineering students from all over the world design, build, and test formula style racecars that are then entered into one or more of eight total competitions held around the world. Eighty universities will be competing at the FSAE West competition in Lincoln, NE. Ranking in the competition is dependent on a score based on a 1000 point scale with points coming from design, cost, sales presentations, and racing events.

This year’s car, codenamed Mantis, is based on the Savage 2 design from last year, but includes many significant changes. The center of gravity will be lowered substantially and the entire suspension system will be dramatically improved with the addition of front and rear anti-roll bars and new geometry. Mantis will also be the first UCI FSAE car with a full aero package! We are confident that Mantis will be the highest performance and best placing FSAE vehicle ever produced by the Anteater Racing team.

Anteater Racing ScaleFunder Update: 0 to 60% in one week!

January 25, 2017

How fast can you go zero to sixty? UCI’s FSAE Racecar “Mantis” can do it in under 3 seconds!

Because of your overwhelming support, we have reached 60% of our fundraising goal in just 1 week! We’re still reaching for an overall goal of $5,000. On behalf of the entire program, we want to thank you so much for your contribution.

Our teams are hard at work preparing the vehicles for competition. Check out our Baja SAE Vehicle “Bandit”!

Over the course of the past 3.5 months the team has collectively logged over 3,300 hours into the project.  We do this because we value the challenge that the BAJA SAE vehicle presents to us.  As time progresses the team continues to triumph over challenges and make forward progress.

This past week, the powertrain team completed the design one of our powertrain guards, the CVT Guard.  We use what is referred to as a Constantly Variable Transmission in our vehicle to maintain the peak power output of our engine at all times. All rotating components are required to be shielded to prevent hands to enter the system as well as to contain all of the components in case of catastrophic failure.

We look forward to competing in Gorman, California, April 27-30!!!
